Denver 7 News

FORT COLLINS, Colo. Colorado State University is under a shelter-in-place order following an aggravated assault with a knife on campus.

In a message to students, CSU said the assault happened near Laurel Hall on the Oval. The suspect took off after the incident.

CSU described the suspect as a white man in his 30s. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and a black backpack.

CSU said there is an ongoing threat since the man may still be on campus. Anyone on campus should shelter in place and call 911 with any emergency.

CSU said this incident is not connected to an earlier incident that occurred at Laurel Village Wednesday morning.

This is a developing story.
