Denver weather: Mild temperatures return after 1st hard freeze of the season
KDVR Fox 31
DENVER (KDVR) — Temperatures across Colorado dropped early Thursday morning to the coldest levels so far this Fall. There was a hard/killing freeze in Denver weather with readings in the low to middle 20s.
While it was not record cold according to the Pinpoint Weather team, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, it was below average for this time of year.
Weather tonight: Few clouds and cold
Denver will have some clouds drifting across the area for the evening and overnight.
It will be pleasant for trick-or-treaters with readings in the low 50s around 5 p.m. to low 40s by 9 p.m. Overnight temperatures will again fall below freezing across most of the state and in metro Denver. It just won't be as cold as Wednesday night.
Weather tomorrow: Mostly sunny and mild again
Colorado will welcome the start of November with mainly sunny skies and dry conditions expected across the state.
Temperatures look to be seasonal with readings in the 50s and 60s statewide. The warmest temperatures will be in southeast Colorado with some spots near 70 degrees.
Looking ahead: Mild weekend before next rain/snow chance
The mild and dry conditions continue on Saturday. There will be increasing clouds and some late day rain showers on Sunday as the next cold front approaches.
The rain showers could mix with snow during the overnight into early Monday.
Monday brings the next best chance for needed moisture — the question is how much of the moisture will fall as rain or snow or a rain/snow mix. It will depend on the timing of the best moisture. If it falls mainly during the day it would be a mix with lots of melting. If it falls early on Monday or late Monday night, it could be all snow and possible light accumulation.
The Pinpoint Weather team should start to see more details in the timing of the moisture in the coming days.
