Denver weather: More morning snow, Pinpoint Weather Alert Day
KDVR Fox 31
DENVER (KDVR) — Morning snow showers will make for a slippery start to Thursday, a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day. A pocket of sunshine arrives later in the Denver weather forecast as highs remain chilly.
Weather today: Morning snow
Another round of snow pushes into the Front Range and Eastern Plains Thursday morning. With an additional 1-3 inches along the Palmer Divide and an inch in the metro, roads could be slick for the morning commute.
Highs on Thursday will make it into the upper 30s with maybe a pocket of sunshine in Denver and north by the afternoon.
Weather tonight: Extra clouds
Clouds linger Thursday night with light snow staying in the southern Eastern Plains. Winds will be light in Denver as lows dip into the middle 20s, meaning the city will see re-freezing on the roads.
Looking ahead: More snow before a mild Sunday
Friday starts with cloudy skies and chilly temps with snow continuing to fall in southern Colorado. Temperatures make it to the upper 30s before snow starts to fall in the early afternoon for Denver.
Snow showers then stick around the Front Range through the overnight hours and into Saturday morning. This will cause issues for the evening commute, so it is another Pinpoint Weather Alert Day.
This storm could add 5-7 inches to the metro, up to and possibly over a foot along the Palmer Divide and southern foothills, 4-8 in the northern foothills and minimal snowfall north towards Fort Collins.
That snow wraps up on Saturday around midday with chances for some sunshine in the afternoon. Highs on Saturday will make it to the middle 40s.
Sunday looks closer to seasonal averages with temperatures in the middle 50s and sunny skies.
Monday starts the next week with mostly sunny skies and highs in the middle 50s. Tuesday is very similar with mid-50s and a mix of sun and clouds.
Wednesday adds a few extra clouds into the forecast with highs around the 50-degree mark.
