Littleton escape room named among the top 10 in US

DENVER (KDVR) — Haunted houses are an October staple and allow guests to enter into a terrifying adventure. For those who are looking for a little less fright, escape rooms lock you into an immersive adventure, just make sure you get out in time.

Escape rooms have grown in popularity over the years, testing groups of friends, family and co-workers on how well they can work together and make it out.

USA Today looked at escape rooms across the U.S., and a panel of experts and readers helped determine the top 10. Per the list, an escape room in Littleton was among the best in the entire country.

No. 8: Mystic Escape Room

Mystic Escape Room, located at 5776 S. Rapp St. in Littleton, was named the eighth-best escape room in the U.S.

USA Today said Mystic Escape Room sets itself apart from other locations because of its "truly unique adventures."

"While fun is a key ingredient, attention to detail sets Mystic Escape Room apart. One such detail is automation. Many escape rooms rely on simple puzzles and padlocks, but Mystic Escape Room conjures something extraordinary," said the escape room on its website.

Currently, the escape room offers three adventures: The Amulet of Time, The Pink Panther and The Book of Souls.

According to the escape room's website, The Amulet of Time is an "Indiana Jones"-themed adventure. It has a 6/10 difficulty rating and groups have 60 minutes to complete. Groups will face puzzles, traps and secret passages.

The Pink Panther adventure is described as the ultimate heist. Groups must steal a prestigious diamond in 60 minutes. This adventure has a 7/10 difficulty rating.

Finally, The Book of Souls adventure is about a lost monastery curse. Groups will enter a secret chamber inside an abandoned monastery to solve riddles in 60 minutes. This is the hardest adventure with an 8/10 difficulty rating.

All rooms are private for a minimum of two to three players. Prices and availabilities can be found online.
