Widow speaks out about 'freak' construction accident that killed her partner

LITTLETON, Colo. (KDVR) — A Littleton family is grieving after losing their loved one in a work-related accident and electrocution in Pueblo.
The accident happened on Oct. 5 — about a week ago. Now, the man's widow is sharing with FOX31.
Brian Danielson had his own business called "Greenhouse Guys" which he ran for a decade. He worked in the same construction site before and that's why it was so hard for the family to understand what happened.
Krystal Fawkes said her lifetime partner Brian was living his dream.
“Construction," said Fawkes. "He had his own little business thing and he would do a lot of the greenhouses.”
That's what he was doing on Oct. 5 at a construction site in Pueblo when the unimaginable happened.
“It's been like a rock thrown into our road," said Fawkes.
Fawkes said that around 3 p.m. on that day Brian was on the roof carrying aluminum. She said the wind started picking up causing him to wobble. The material he was holding blew into a powerline.
“He was electrocuted and was thrown off a roof about 30 feet," said Fawkes.
She said an employee on the job called for help but it was too late.
“This the hard part trying to make sense of it," she said. "Like very freak accident.”
Now Fawkes is trying to be strong for her two children who are just 11 and 13 years old.
“They both are taking it hard, but the younger one is like the shadow of him," said Fawke. "He has been playing the guitar trying to feel some connection to his dad.”
She's still trying to make sense of the horrific situation.
“It's something we have to come to terms with I think," said Fawkes. "That's going to take a long time without question."
Brian's funeral will be held in Pueblo next Friday. The family is still finalizing some of those details. The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with the funeral costs.
