Broncos player Josh Reynolds injured in shooting in Denver last week

Denver Post

Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting last week in Denver, the team announced Thursday.

Reynolds, 29, is in his first season with the Broncos and is currently not playing due to a finger injury.

“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries,” the Broncos said in a statement. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

Reynolds signed a two-year contract worth up to $14 million with the Broncos this spring. He played extensively during the early part of the season but fractured a finger while catching a touchdown in Denver’s Week 5 win over Las Vegas earlier this month.

That injury required a minor surgery, which landed Reynolds on injured reserve, meaning he had to miss at least four games. Because he was not eligible to play, he did not travel with Denver to New Orleans for the team’s 33-10 win last Thursday night.

Reynolds has been at the Broncos facility each of the past two days doing conditioning work on a side field while the team conducts practice, which is typical of players recovering from injury.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
