Actress and activist Jane Fonda teamed up with community leaders in North Denver on Monday. Cultivando and the Green House Connection Center welcomed Fonda for a conversation about public health advocacy, community protection, and environmental justice.
The event brought together community members, organizations, health experts, Indigenous teachers and youth to share perspectives and challenges surrounding the climate policies in Colorado. They also discussed how the fossil fuel industry impacts vulnerable communities.
"It's concentrated in communities of people of color, of low-income people, working-class people," said Fonda.
The event included arts, dances, music and healing.
