On the mound: Lefty Austin Gomber made his second start of spring, and it was a rough one. In 1 1/3 innings, he gave up five runs on seven hits. … In his first major league spring training action, minor league call-up RHP Blake Goldsberry put up a scoreless outing. He struck out two, allowed one hit, and hit one batter in a two-thirds of an inning. … Noah Davis allowed three hits and two runs, including a homer, over two innings. … RHPs Matt Koch, Jeff Criswell, Anthony Molina and Riley Pint each worked a scoreless, hitless inning.

At the plate: The Rockies were shut out for the first four innings. In the fifth, Bradley Zimmer and Sam Hilliard, who are competing with each other for a spot on the roster, both struck out swinging. Alan Trejo walked, and then Drew Romo doubled to right-center field, scoring Trejo. … Ezequiel Tovar and Nolan Jones scored in the sixth inning. … Willie MacIver doubled to left-center field in the seventh inning, then stole third base and eventually scored. … DH Nolan Jones went 2-for-3 with a run and a double. After an 0-for-10 start to spring training, Jones has hit safely in three straight games.

Transactions: The Rockies announced Sunday that they have optioned infielder Warming Bernabel to Double-A Hartford. … Eight players were reassigned to minor league camp: infielders Connor Kaiser, Grant Lavigne and Ryan Ritter; outfielders Benny Montgomery and Bladimir Restituyo; left-handed pitchers Carson Palmquist and Joe Rock; and right-handed pitcher Kyle Wilcox. … Colorado has 59 players left in spring training camp, including 19 non-roster players and one — Antonio Senzatela, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery he had last summer — on the 60-day injured list.
