Gunfire erupted at a house party in Northglenn overnight, leaving two people dead and wounding four others, police said Friday morning.
Northglenn officers were dispatched at 12:01 a.m. Friday to a home near Belford Drive and Bruce Lane, where they found multiple people who’d gathered for a party on Halloween night had been struck by bullets.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and five others were taken to a local hospital, where another person has since died, police spokesman James Burlison said Friday morning.
Police initially issued a shelter-in-place order for the surrounding area, which Burlison said was lifted at about 5:36 a.m. Although officers have not arrested anyone in connection with the shooting, Burlison said they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
Burlison also said officers do not believe the incident was a drive-by shooting and that it is too soon to say whether it was related to gang conflict.
The deceased victims of the shooting will be identified publicly by the Office of the Coroner of Adams & Broomfield Counties.
Police asked members of the public with information about the shooting to contact Northglenn detective Paul Gesi at 303-450-8857 or [email protected].
