DENVER (KDVR) — A neighborhood in Castle Pines had a few furry visitors this week, and trick-or-treaters were on the lookout for them Halloween night.
The bears have been spotted throughout the week in the Royal Hills neighborhood. Louise Green said they came through the Green's yard a couple of days ago.
“My mom yelled downstairs to come because there was a bear," she said.
Not just one, but three.
“Mom bear and two babies, climbing up and down the tree," said Emily Green. “I get really excited when the bears come around.”
But she headed back inside to watch safely with her kids.
The Greens aren’t the only residents who saw them, either. Multiple people posted pictures and videos to social media this week. While trick-or-treaters were happy to see them before, they didn’t want to have a run-in again while out in the neighborhood on Halloween.
“I don’t want to get, like, super close because it’s a mother and her cubs, you know?" says Maggie Beatty. "But maybe, like, seeing them in a tree or something would be really cool.”
Colorado Parks and Wildlife said it’s normal for bears to be active this time of year. They encourage revelers to pick up Halloween trash overnight to keep bears out of it and away from homes.
