COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KXRM) — The Colorado Springs Police Department said that on Sunday, officers were called to a body that was found near the interstate in downtown Colorado Springs.
According to CSPD, a little before 6 p.m., police got a call about a body between Interstate 25 and the railroad tracks, near the West Bijou Street exit. The El Paso County Coroner's Office responded.
CSPD told Nexstar's FOX21 News that due to some suspicious circumstances surrounding the body, the coroner's office contacted the homicide unit for a consultation.
At this time, CSPD said the coroner's office will determine the cause and manner of death and is waiting on word from the coroner for more information.
