DENVER (KDVR) — A North Boulder man said a mountain lion approached him as he was walking his dog, late, Thursday night.
Juan Gutierrez said his dog probably thought the mountain lion was a small dog at first and was unfazed.
The 31-year-old man said he initially yelled at the mountain lion, then flashed a light, before kicking the animal.
Gutierrez said the mountain lion seemed dazed. The man and his dog were then able to slowly retreat.
He thinks it's the same mountain lion, which was spotted, not far away, Tuesday night.
Colorado Parks & Wildlife were called to the area Thursday night.
A C.P.W. spokeswoman confirms the call but says personnel were unable to locate the mountain lion.
Neither Gutierrez nor his dog were hurt.
