At the June 11 Granby Board of Trustees meeting, a workshop was held between the board members and representatives from the company Michael Baker International.

Michael Baker International was contracted to lead the Downtown Granby Greenspace & Wayfinding Plan and project manager Kristin Cypher gave an update to the board members.

Cypher explained that they are currently working to gather input from residents and visitors about what they want from various lots around the downtown area and what they want out of Granby signage.

There are currently three lots in downtown Granby being looked at.

The Blue Lot is located at 91 East Agate Ave. between the Fat Cat Cafe and Blue Federal Credit Union. The Town Owned Lot is located next to Brickhouse 40. The Garrett Lot is located at 270 East Agate Ave., next to Mane Salon. The aims for these lots is to design amenities and improve them.

Signage in Granby will also be improved and updated. The signage will not only help people find their way around town, but also tell a story of Granby’s character and history.

Cypher explained at the meeting that project members are beginning to reach out to the community and stakeholders to get feedback on some preliminary design options. Feedback will then be incorporated into a final design.

There is currently a live survey available to community members.

Trustee Jeffrey Sneddon announced his resignation at a previous meeting and town staff asked the board for direction on how to appoint his replacement. Town Manager Ted Cherry explained that the board could decide to move in two different directions. The town can either hold a special election to appoint someone to the board or appoint a replacement themselves for the remainder of his term.

The board decided to appoint a replacement and is planning to make an appointment at the July 9 board of trustees meeting.
