DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver International Airport is constantly changing, whether it's adding new local restaurants or updating security systems. Now, it has a golf course simulator.
The airport is currently undergoing massive renovations, including renovating check-in spots and security. The airport also added three new local eateries: Bar Dough, Mister Oso and Aviano Coffee. This year, DIA also opened local joints like Mizu Sushi-Izakaya, El Chingon, Elway’s Taproom and Grill, Tacos Tequila Whiskey, Breckenridge Brewing and Snarf’s Sandwiches.
Among the new additions this year, the airport announced Golf DEN, an immersive technology that allows travelers to tee off at some of the most renowned golf courses in the world while still making their flight on time.
In Concourse A on the Mezzanine, the simulator hosts drop-ins, leagues and a bar with its own microbrew for travelers to hang out while they wait for their flight.
The simulator tells golfers the carry, speed, back spin, side spin, side angle and launch angle of their swing.
DIA said travelers don't have to bring equipment, there will be free rentals. People also don't have to be dressed for a day on the course, anyone can come in and pay as they go, which ranges between $20 for 15 minutes, $34 for 30 minutes and $65 for 60 minutes.
