DENVER (KDVR) — The workweek starts with above-average and near-record highs in the low 80s as skies stay mostly sunny along the Front Range in the Denver weather forecast.

Weather today: Mainly sunny

Monday looks to have a warm afternoon as highs top out in the lower 80s, nearing the record high of 85 degrees.

While the high country could see extra clouds and a quick shower, the Front Range and Eastern Plains will see mostly sunny skies.

Weather tonight: Clear skies

Skies will stay clear Monday night as winds stay light. Overnight low temperatures will dip into the upper 40s, keeping Denver about 10 degrees above average.

Looking ahead: Cooler end of the week with showers

Tuesday will be a bit cooler with highs in the low 70s and mainly sunny skies.

Wednesday brings highs back to the 80-degree mark with abundant sunshine. Thursday could see extra clouds through the afternoon as highs reach the upper 70s.

Friday will bring out cloudy skies and cooler highs in the upper 60s. Denver could also see some late showers on Friday that linger into early Saturday.

Rain chances look better for the high country into the weekend.

Saturday keeps the clouds and spotty rain chances with highs in the upper 50s. Sunday is back to seasonal highs in the upper 60s with slow-clearing skies.
