DENVER (KDVR) — More warm temperatures are in Denver's weather forecast Monday, ahead of much cooler temperatures and the chance for showers Tuesday and Wednesday.

Weather tonight: Mainly cloudy

Sunday night will stay mainly cloudy. This will help to keep some daytime heating and limit low temperatures to the upper 40s.

Weather tomorrow: Partly sunny, warm

Clouds will linger on Monday. However, a warm southwest breeze will help high temperatures climb to the upper 70s, which is just a few degrees shy of the daily record, which is 82 degrees set in 2016.

Looking ahead: Shower chances, much cooler

The next big change moves in on Tuesday and Wednesday. A cold front will move in bringing mountain snow showers on Tuesday, and increasing clouds in Denver ahead of the chance for showers.

With temperatures reaching a high in the 60s on Tuesday, then falling near freezing Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, there will be a chance for a wintry mix of rain and snow.

While higher elevations could pick up a couple of inches of snowfall from this event, Denver's warm temperatures over the last few days will make surfaces too warm for any snowfall to stick.

Cooler, but seasonal temperatures return on Halloween and continue into next weekend.
