Winter Park’s Beaver Village Lodge has been situated at the entrance of the town since 1940, but will soon be demolished for a new amenity center.

Artist Lisa Baird wrote that she passes by the lodge often and wanted to capture the building before it gets replaced.

“I’ve ridden my bicycle by Beaver Village Lodge for years. A friend suggested this would be a great painting subject. It seemed that if I wanted to paint the Beaver Village Lodge, I needed to do it now,” Baird wrote in an email.

As an oil painter, Baird enjoys taking inspiration from the outdoors for her work.

Other works of Baird’s include the interactive murals at the Headwaters Trail Alliance Fraser River Trailhead, a Zephyr chair turned bus stop on Rendezvous Road and Mountain Flower Circle and a piece on the 2024 Winter Park Art Trail.

This painting and prints are available for purchase at Winter Park Framewerx.
