In August, Mayor Mike Johnston envisioned ten micro-communities opening in Denver before the end of 2023 to help with his House1000 plan to bring 1,000 homeless residents off the streets by the end of the year. Johnston declared a victory on his House1000 goal in December, but that victory was thanks to hotel partnerships, not micro-communities, or groupings of several dozen shed-sized homes.
