April 19, 1948 – August 19, 2024

Gerald Joseph (Dutch) Gaura, 76, of Kremmling, CO passed from earth to heaven on the morning of August 19, 2024. Dutch was born April 19, 1948 to Edward and Elsie Gaura and grew up in Mundelein, IL. He served in the Marines for 6 years.
He worked hanging drywall for most of his life. He was an incredibly hard worker. In more recent years he made and sold beautiful log furniture and pieces made with skis and snowboards. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, skiing, fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley. He could often be spotted at Big Shooter Coffee with his Harley or at a Promise Keepers men’s breakfast on Saturday mornings. He didn’t go many places without his beloved golden retriever, Hazel. When he was happy or excited about something he would say “choice!” And would often leave you with the helpful advice of “Don’t take any wooden nickels.” You didn’t have to be around him long to realize his love for Jesus and deep faith in God. He had too many favorite scriptures to list here, but one reads “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” Romans 10:13.
Dutch is survived by his 7 children, Jerry, Josh, Angie, Gail, Rachel, Daniel and David, and 14 grandchildren. A beloved father and friend, he will be greatly missed. We celebrate his life, and can’t help but imagine him riding down the streets of gold on a new Harley.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 12th in Kremmling Colorado. Graveside service at 1:30 pm at the Kremmling cemetery, followed by a potluck reception at 2 pm at the Shiloah building, on the town square in Kremmling.
