DENVER (KDVR) — Election Day officially began on Tuesday, but according to the Denver Elections Division, over half of Denver residents cast their votes early.
Colorado is known to have some of the highest voter turnout in the country and makes up some of the tens of millions of votes already cast throughout the U.S.
By the end of Nov. 3, the Colorado Secretary of State said that 2,092,035 people returned their ballots, marking over half the 4,027,830 active voters in Colorado. Meanwhile, Denver's voter turnout is about the same as the entire state.

As of Monday night, the city's election division said that nearly 52% of Denver's 472,546 active voters cast their ballots.
While over half of Colorado's active voters have already returned their ballots and it's too late to mail in your ballot, there's still time to vote.
In Colorado, you can still register to vote on Election Day. To get your vote in on time, either head to a nearby polling center or drop off your ballot.

Every active registered voter in the state will receive a ballot in the mail. Voters can choose to mail in their ballot, return it to a drop box, or vote in person.
Ballots must be received by county clerks' offices by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5.
