DENVER (KDVR) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver on Interstate 25 near Prospect Road in Fort Collins.
The Colorado State Patrol told FOX31 that they received a call at 4:15 a.m. on Monday about a crash. According to troopers, a Chevy Silverado struck a pedestrian that was on the interstate.
It is currently unclear why the pedestrian was on the highway, but CSP is investigating.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver had minor injuries.
Due to the crash and the investigation, northbound I-25 is closed, but drivers can exit onto Prospect Road. There is no estimated time for reopening, so CSP is asking drivers to avoid the area.
