The Broncos and quarterback Bo Nix on Friday agreed to terms on the first-round draft pick’s contract.

Nix, the 12th overall pick in last month’s draft, has a four-year deal worth a fully guaranteed $18.61 million and comes with a $10.36 million signing bonus, multiple sources confirmed to The Denver Post. Like all first-round picks, Nix’s contract has an option for a fifth year.

Rookie contracts don’t involve the kind of negotiating that went on before the 2011 collective bargaining agreement instituted a rookie wage scale. Now, each pick has an attached value and players generally sign for that amount.

Nix is the first of the six first-round quarterbacks to sign his rookie contract. Other first-rounders who have signed or agreed, according to reports from around the league, include New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers (No. 6), New Orleans tackle Talise Fuaga (No. 14), Indianapolis edge rusher Laiatu Latu (No. 15), Seattle defensive lineman Byron Murphy II (No. 16) and a handful of others.

Earlier Friday, the Broncos announced the signing of four other rookies:  Fifth-round cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, fifth-round running back Audric Estime, seventh-round wide receiver Devaughn Vele and seventh-round offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo. They also signed 13 college free agents and released veteran wide receiver Phillip Dorsett and defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence to round out their 90-man roster for this weekend’s rookie minicamp.

The minicamp began Friday and runs through Sunday. Between the seven draft picks, a crop of undrafted free agents and dozens of tryout players, the Broncos will likely have upward of 50 participants.

Nix, of course, will be the highest-profile of them all.

Now five of the seven draft picks are known to have agreed to their deals. The pair that hasn’t — wide receiver Troy Franklin and edge rusher Jonah Elliss — will participate in minicamp under injury protection agreements until their rookie contracts are signed.
