This red rock cliff house is the most wish-listed Airbnb in Colorado

DENVER (KDVR) — There are a lot of unique and highly rated places to stay in Colorado, but one in a rural area in the southwestern part of the state is getting extra love.

The listing on Airbnb is getting a lot of attention for its unique features like a rocky shower, a wood stove and panoramic views of the surrounding desert and red rock cliffs — not to mention that the building itself is built into a sandstone cliff, and red rocks make up several walls throughout the cabin.

The Airbnb, called Sage Canyon Cliff House, is located in Cortez, not far from Mesa Verde. Airbnb said it is the most wish-listed Airbnb in Colorado.

According to the listing, the house is "built into a red rock cliff wall of a private red rock canyon alcove."

The house is in the wilderness, with views of red rocks, canyons, mountains and mesas, and the listing advises potential guests that wild critters often visit the Airbnb.

The house is surrounded by native flowers and plants, and a trail leads guests to 1,000-year-old petroglyphs on the nearby cliff.

The Airbnb has plenty of entertainment options and is equipped with wireless internet, but there's no TV. The hosts, siblings Laura and Grant, are creators and nature enthusiasts who hope to keep the space focused on nature and inspire others.

"We are endlessly inspired by the beauty and the unique history of this place and want nothing more than to share it with like-minded creatives," the host profile reads.

There is a book library that readers can enjoy and a speaker for guests to stream music on, as well as an office space in case guests want to get some work done.

There is one bedroom and one bathroom, plus the couch pulls out to a bed. Sandstone cliffs make up walls throughout the cabin, bringing the outdoors inside.

The bathroom is as natural as it gets, with a large, colorful sandstone rock wall and a shower made up of more sandstone rocks.

Availability is limited, and booking prices over the next couple of months range from about $260 to $375 per night.
