After waiting a few extra days, the Colorado Avalanche finally has an opponent for the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs: the Central Division champion Dallas Stars.
The Stars locked up the final spot in the second round with a 2-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 7 of their first-round series Sunday night. As the division champions, the Stars will have home ice against the Avs.
The Avalanche will end up getting a week off between games, with Game 1 of its second-round series set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
In a reverse of their previous series, when the Avs faced a Jets team that had beaten them in all three regular-season meetings, Colorado won three of four against Dallas this season.
The Stars did take their last meeting, 7-4, at Ball Arena on April 7.
