Guardians 13, Rockies 7
Thursday at Goodyear Ballpark

On the mound: Right-hander Peter Lambert, in the running as the Rockies’ fifth starter or primary long reliever, had a rough day. Lambert, making his fifth Cactus League appearance (second start), allowed five runs on seven hits with one walk and five strikeouts across 3 1/3 innings. … Two of the five runs charged to Lambert came around to score on lefty Evan Justice, who was charged with four runs in two-thirds of an inning. Justice had not allowed a run over his first six games. … Right-handed reliever Anthony Molina, the Rule 5 draft pick, has a 3.48 ERA over six Cactus League outings. He allowed one run on three hits over three innings Thursday, striking out two. Molina has struck out 11 and walked only two this spring.

At the plate:  Two players on the roster bubble — utility infielder Alan Trejo and first baseman/designated hitter Elehuris Montero — had big days at the plate. Trejo his second home run of spring, hitting a three-run blast off Guardians reliever Emannuel Clase. Trejo added a sacrifice fly to drive in four runs. Montero, who’s out of options, snapped a 0-for-16 skid with a 2-for-3 day.

Prospect watch: Catcher Drew Romo, who remains in big-league camp and is likely to begin the season at Triple-A Albuquerque, is batting .200 after going 0-for-3 as the designated hitter Thursday.

Up Next: Rangers at Rockies, 2:15 p.m. (MDT) Friday.

Rockies probable pitchers: RHP Ryan Feltner, RHP Justin Lawrence, RHP John Curtiss, RHP Nick Mears, LHP Jalen Beeks, LHP Ty Blach, RHP Matt Koch.
