Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland rescinds fire restrictions
Sky High News
As of Wednesday, Oct. 30, all fire restrictions have been rescinded on National Forest System lands managed by the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland. This effects areas in Grand County as well as Garfield, Jackson, Moffat, Rio Blanco and Routt counties.
The restrictions were removed because of reduced wildfire potential due to increased fuel moisture and favorable weather forecasts.
In a press release from the U.S. Forest Service, it writes that late-season fires have become more common in the Rocky Mountain Region, meaning that hunters, campers and all other visitors should exercise more caution to reduce wildfire risk.
